School lunch price proposed increase

The focus for Monday’s meeting of the Oconee school trustees will be if and when the public schools re-open.  But there’s also the matter of what students will pay for school breakfast and lunch.  There will be no change in the cost of a student breakfast the next 12 months, but the trustees will consider a 10- cent increase in the cost of a student lunch.  The proposed new price is $2.30 for elementary students and $2.50 for students at the secondary level.  No changes are planned in the cost for a reduced-price breakfast or lunch.  Gloria Moore, chief finance officer for the school district, said the state will set teacher and staff prices later.
