School board challenger emerges

A retired Oconee County school administrator has her eyes on a seat on the board that decides the policies for the public schools.  According to an announcement from the Oconee Democratic Party, Earnestine Williams will be one of the speakers for this year’s county party fundraiser July 25.  The fundraiser this year will be a virtual meeting.  In this year’s November election, three seats on Oconee’s board of school trustees are to be voted on–the seats in Districts 2, 4, and 5.  Qualifying for those offices starts in two weeks.
