School and general population COVID-19 numbers

On today’s report, South Carolina DHEC recorded 364 new cases of COVID-19–11 of which were Oconee County residents.  Statewide, the health agency has confirmed 29 new deaths, including two new Oconee deaths. Of 12,506 test results received, the positivity was 5.1%. Updated COVID-19 tracking numbers in Oconee public schools:  Since the school year started in August, the cumulative number of virus cases has surpassed the one thousand mark, standing today at 1,005.  Most of the cases have been student infections, and most were in the first couple of weeks of the school year.  By the last week in October, there were but 11 COVID-19 school cases so far in the month and no classroom closures.
