Samuel Glenn

 

 

Fair Play – Samuel “Sam” A. Glenn Jr., 78, of 809 E. Fair Play Blvd., husband of Doris Ann Bell Glenn, passed away, July 22nd, 2020 at his residence, surrounded by his loving family.

 

Sam was born in Fair Play, SC and was the son of the late Samuel A. Glenn, Sr. and Cora Lee Jolly Glenn. Sam was a 1961 Clemson University graduate, a retired supervisor at West Point Stevens and operator of Holly’s General Store. Sam was also a member of the Fair Play Masonic Lodge #132, where he served fifty years, a nature conservationist, and was a member of Townville Presbyterian Church.

 

Sam is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Doris Ann Bell Glenn; daughters, Michelle Shipley (Jake) of Fair Play, and Rebecca Lawson (Steven) of Fair Play; three grandchildren, Joseph Miller (Emily) of Seneca, Alexander Lawson, Ethan Lawson.

 

In addition to his parents, Sam is preceded in death by half-brothers, George Dewitt Glenn and Joe D. Glenn; sister, Helen Hollingsworth; and half-sister, Bessie Johnson.

 

A funeral service will be held 3 pm, Sunday, July 26th, 2020, at Beaverdam Baptist Church with burial to follow in Beaverdam Baptist Church Cemetery. Mr. Glenn will lie in state Saturday, July 25th, 2020 from 8 am – 5 pm at Sandifer Funeral Home and Sunday, July 26th, 2020 2 pm – 3 pm, prior to the service at Beaverdam Baptist Church.
