Sam Dickson

Westminster – Sam Lewis Frank Dickson, 85, of 361 N. Horseshoe Bridge Road, husband of Rozie “Rose” Belle Carter Dickson, passed away Sunday, February 21st,2021 at his residence.

 

A native of Holly Springs Community, he was the son of the late D.A. Lonnie Dickson and Vera Burton Dickson. Sam was a lumber man and sawmill operator for many years, and owner of Dickson’s Used Cars until he retired in 2006. But what Sam was most known for was the excellent care he provided for his son, Dennis Dickson who was injured in a car accident in 1984 until his death in 2013. Sam had a great passion for hunting, was a dirt track racecar driver and attended the Rider Mountain Pentecostal Fire Baptized Holiness Church

 

Survivors in addition to his wife, Rozie “Rose” Belle Carter Dickson of 65 years, include son, David Dickson and wife Glenda of Westminster; daughters, Debbie Dickson of Greenville, and Rhonda Dickson Horta of Spartanburg; brothers, Alonzo Dickson of Santee; six grandchildren, Brent Smith (Trace), Bradley Smith (Kayla), Brittany Rholetter, Courtney Rholetter, and Jason Dickson; granddaughter in law, Amanda Smith; twelve great grandchildren and one great- great grandchild.

 

Sam is preceded in death by his son, Dennis Dickson; a grandson, Scotty Smith; brothers, Rudolph Dickson, Lloyd Dickson; sisters, Ollie Mae Dickson Bolt, and Betty Lou Dickson Moore Cromer.

 

A Funeral Service will be held 2pm, Wednesday, February 24th, 2021 from the chapel of Sandifer Funeral Home with entombment to follow at the Heritage Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm – 8:00pm, Tuesday, February 23rd, 2021 at Sandifer Funeral Home.  Due to the Covid-19 pandemic and concerns for the health of family and friends, Sam’s family ask that all who attend the funeral service please wear face masks and practice social distancing.
