Safe practices can lower virus spread

Oconee County urges all persons visiting, volunteering or working at mobile food lines and donation centers to continue safe practices to reduce the potential spread of the coronavirus.

Volunteers and citizens should wash their hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not regularly available, hand sanitizer may be used. Groups should be limited to three or less as much as possible. All persons should maintain a safe social distance of six (6) feet from others as recommended by federal authorities.

All questions related to storm recovery, supplies and available services should be directed to the citizen hotlines for disaster recovery. Staff is available to answer calls seven (7) days a week from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at (864) 364-5428 and (864) 364-5436.
