Ruth Canupp

Seneca – Ruth Hardy Canupp, 91, widow of the late Ted Lewis Canupp, passed away Saturday, October 24th, 2020 at Prisma Health Greenville Memorial Hospital.

 

A native of Oconee County, she was the daughter of the late Virgil Homer and Nellie Caroline Bolt Hardy. Ruth retired from Oconee Memorial Hospital as an Admissions Clerk, she worked with the Clemson University International Students, was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, active with The Beaverdam Baptist Association, and was a member of Westminster First Baptist Church.

 

Survivors include a son, Dennis Canupp (Sandy) of Walhalla; daughter, Deborah Crouch of Seneca; adopted sons, Naveen Balakrishnan of Adams Run, South Carolina, Tom Vo of Easley; adopted daughter and namesake, Betty Ruth Johnson of Westminster; sister, Barbara Waters of Westminster; and three grandchildren, Michael  Crouch (Anna), John Crouch (Addie) and Kate Canupp; four great-grandchildren, Parker Crouch, Lane Crouch, Lillie Ramey, and Bradey. In addition to her parents and husband, Ted Lewis Canupp, Ruth is preceded in death by brothers, Jack and Homer Hardy; sisters, Mildred Davis, Frances Owens, and Margaret Green.

 

A private graveside service will be held and there will be no formal visitation.
