Rural fire station meets challenges

In a year dominated by the COVID-19 pandemic, a rural Oconee fire station believes it has kept up with the challenges it faced.  The Corinth-Shiloh Fire Department covers parts of Oconee County on opposite sides of U-S 123, the Seneca-Clemson corridor.  There, it experiences the push out of an expanding Clemson University enrollment and an assortment of student apartment homes that have cropped up near the large Hartwell Village shopping center.  In a fundraising letter, the fire department seeks donations of $100 dollars from property owners so as, in the words of the solicitation letter, “…to allow us to continue every effort to be first on scene to your emergency, whether it be medical or fire related.”
