Rucia Adams
Toccoa – Rucia Yvonne Matheson Adams, 71, wife of the late John Randall “Randy” Adams, passed away on Tuesday, September 26th, 2023 at Pruitt Health Athens Heritage.
Born in Seneca, South Carolina, Rucia was the daughter of the late Kenneth Nelson “Kenny” Matheson and Lena Mae James Matheson. Rucia worked for Ionosphere where she was a Travel Agent. She was an active member of First Baptist of Toccoa, Georgia, she was involved in Sunday School, a member of the choir, actively involved with vacation bible school, and GA’s . She was also a member of the Eastern Star and Long Creek Community Club.
Rucia is survived by her sisters, Wanda C. Moore (Eddie) of Westminster, Linda M. Rholetter (Roger) of Long Creek; niece, Julie M. Smith (Phillip) of Seneca; nephews, Kenny Matheson (Crystal) of West Union, Aaron Moore of Westminster, Kevin Moore of Westminster; Great nieces and nephews, Colton Simpson, Sophie Matheson, Braelyn Smith, Averie Matheson, Gage Matheson; and sister-in-law Melinda Matheson (the late Bud).
Rucia is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a brother, William Kenneth “Bud” Matheson.
A private family celebration of life service was held.
