Rock Quarry business in front of Oconee leaders

Business pertaining to a moneymaking arm of government will take stage tomorrow in front of the Oconee County Council.  The council and the public are being alerted for, what’s described as, “Discussion and actions regarding the Oconee County Rock Quarry, Quarry Operations, Quarry pricing, and related matters.”  According to tomorrow night’s meeting agenda, public comment regarding the quarry will be limited to three minutes each person.  Because of the novel coronavirus, tomorrow’s 6 pm council meeting is a limited-in person attendance meeting.  That equates to 20% of the meeting room capacity, or 34 people.  You can follow the meeting live on the county’s YouTube channel, accessible through the county website Oconeesc.com.  If you would like say or register a comment about the quarry, you are requested to contact Katie Smith, council clerk, at [email protected] or call 864/718-1023 or the county administrator, Amanda Brock, at [email protected] or 864/903-5178 so that your comment will be read and entered into the record.
