Robert Reid Burington
Robert Reid Burington, the husband of Cynthia Harmon Burington, passed away on Tuesday, January 18, 2022, at Lila Doyle.
Born in Buffalo, NY, and raised in Poughkeepsie, NY, he was the son of the late Elbert and Esther Burington. Bob graduated from Middlebury College in Middlebury, VT. He served in the US Army as a 1st Lieutenant. After the military, Bob was employed by IBM in Poughkeepsie, NY, in Corporate Purchasing for 35 years before retiring and relocating to Seneca, SC. Bob loved sports and was a member of the Dutchess Golf and Country Club and the Oconee Country Club. Bob was a part of the family business, Sweet Retreat Fun Center in Seneca. Bob was witty, fun-loving, and lit up when he was around his family.
Mr. Burington is survived by his sons: Stephen Harmon Burington (Lisa) of Irvine, CA and David Alan Burington (Judy) of Seneca, SC; grandchildren: Westley and Aubrey Burington of Irvine, CA, Laura Ziluck of Seneca, SC, and Scott Slingerland (Kellyn) of Bethlehem, PA; great-grandchildren: Owen, Emma, and Connor Ziluck of Seneca, SC; and sister-in-law: Deborah Harmon Hoar ( Edwin).
The family would like to extend its gratitude to the staff of Lila Doyle. The care and compassion provided to comfort Bob and his family during his last years will forever be appreciated.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM, Sunday, February 6, 2022, at Davenport Funeral Home Chapel.
A Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM, Sunday, prior to the service at Davenport Funeral Home.
