Robert Gallant, 89, developed Seneca shopping center

Word has been received from Maine of the death of Robert Gallant. He was a Belk store partner and developed Seneca’s Applewood Shopping Center which, in the 1980s, facilitated the Gallant Belk department store move from the downtown to 123/the Sandifer Boulevard. Gallant was an Anderson resident who spent summers in picturesque Maine after he and his wife, Mary, acquired the famous shoreline frontage home of the writer, E-B White. Robert Gallant was 89 years old.
