Rezoning bid centers on land south of Seneca rail tracks

Five and one-half acres of Seneca private property is up for re-zoning consideration during a hearing to be held next week at city hall.  The planning commission will sit in judgement of Chad Kirby’s application for a residential-6 zone for acreage on S. Fairplay and Townville streets, south of 7th Street.  The property, now owned by the real estate investment company Morgan Legacy Partners, in recent time was approved for a planned development-residential classification, but now seeks a residential-6 zone.  Ed Halbig, the staff liaison to the planning commissioners, says under R-6, single family homes may be built, provided they fit on property six thousand square feet or greater.  The public may attend the hearing, set to start at 6 o’clock Monday evening in the city council chambers.
