Restoring electric power service Wednesday and Thursday

During two straight days inside the Oconee service area of the Blue Ridge Electric Cooperative, crews faced outages that required hours of work to eliminate.  On Thursday, power was interrupted on Park Drive, Salem when a large truck got tangled into an overhead cable line.  In that entanglement, a Blue Ridge spokesman said, an electric pole fell to the ground.  It took three and a half hours to remedy what happened there.  Blue Ridge’s Terry Ballenger says a fallen tree the day before was the culprit in an outage north of Seneca.  That outage impacted customers with West Union addresses and temporarily disabled the traffic lights at Bountyland and Sheep Farm roads.
