Remembering Walter Mondale

Flags flew at half staff over the weekend in memory of Walter Mondale, the former vice president and who earlier served as a U-S senator from Minnesota.  There’s confusion, however, as to how long the flags, following proper protocol, are to be flown at half-staff.  According to one news report, the family conducted a private internment last weekend, but there are to be other services to remember Mondale both in Washington and his home state.  One Oconee County official tells us that if you see flags flying low this summer, they are likely to be in recognition of the former vice president.
