Remains found were those of missing man

The remains found near Seneca have been identified as those of one of a handful of missing Oconeeans. Kendall Todd Hawkins was reported missing the day after Christmas. Coroner Addis says his remains were found late Friday afternoon in a state of advanced decomposition in a ravine near the former Covidien plant on highway 28, Bountyland. It’s presumed, Addis says, 47-year old Hawkins died in mid-December. That’s just about one-quarter of a mile from a Whitworth Circle home, his last known location. With the remains were personal items that identified the deceased. An autopsy will take place next week to assist in the investigation.
