Recognition for bus driver for his humanitarian deed

Clemson City Council will devote part of its February meeting next week to add to the recognition given a driver for “CAT”–Clemson Area Transit.  For a humanitarian reaction on New Year’s Day, Sawyer Gambrell spotted something wrong as he wheeled his bus into the apartment complex Clemson Reserve.  He saw a truck with a trailer halfway onto the sidewalk, and the driver slumped over.  Gambrell called headquarters. Another driver was dispatched to take over his route, while he pulled the truck driver and started CPR until EMS/Fire arrived.  Sadly, the truck driver did not survive.  But, according to the city of Clemson, if that driver lived, it would have been due to the life-saving efforts of Sawyer Gambrell.
