Reba Wheeler
Westminster – Reba Carolyn Cox Wheeler, 82, wife of the late James Thomas Wheeler, passed away Sunday, July 16th, 2023 at Lila Doyle Post-Acute Care.
Born in Oconee County, South Carolina, Reba was the daughter of the late Ralph Calvin Cox and Raymell A. Moore Cox. Reba formerly worked in the physical therapy field with the Toccoa Nursing Home and was a member of Welcome Baptist Church; where she loved to sing in the church choir. Reba loved to cook for her family and friends, dine out, sing, and spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Reba is survived by her daughters: Marrell Marcengill and her husband Barry of Westminster, Lisa Carter and her husband Allen of Westminster, and Delynn Hillman and her husband Terry of West Union; brother, Ralph “RC” Cox, Jr.; and loving grandmother to Benji Marcengill, Chris Gonzalez, Ashten Marcengill, Camden Gardner and Tucker Carter; and loving great-grandmother to her six great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Reba is preceded in death by her brother, Richard Lane Cox and her sister, Robbie Jean Cox Hardy.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, July 19, 2023 at Welcome Baptist Church with burial to follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends and family from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm prior to the service at the church.
