Re-cycling numbers on the increase

Oconee County Council members were encouraged to hear last night that solid waste re-cycling is on the increase across the county. District Two’s Wayne McCall recently called for a concerted effort to increase re-cycling to lessen the charge that the county must pay to haul waste to a Georgia commercial landfill. District Four’s Julian Davis said he noticed a line of cars in front of the re-cycling bin at the Strawberry Farm center near Seneca. And Scott Moulder, county administrator, said the Mountain Rest center won a contest for accepting the highest amount of recyclables.
