Raylene J. Webster

Seneca, SC – Raylene J. Webster, age 81, passed away on January 23rd, 2023.

Born on March 31, 1941, in Los Angeles, California she was the daughter of Ray and Eleanor Lorenz.  She attended Fullerton Jr College and Long Beach State College.  Raylene met her future husband, Richard on a California beach.  Richard and Raylene were married in Hawaii where they resided for 23 years. 

 

While in Hawaii, Raylene designed and built a cookie shop called “The Cookie Kitchen”. She managed that successful enterprise until she and Richard moved to Boca Raton, Fl in 1983.  Always the entrepreneur, she owned and operated an Interior Plant business called Gazebo Interior Designs until moving to Keowee Key, SC in 1993.  In 2021, she and Richard moved to Seneca, SC.

 

Raylene enjoyed singing and was in the Key Koraliers for many years.  Over her lifetime, she participated in many Christian Bible studies and activities.  She loved plants and thus her favorite hobby was gardening.  While in Keowee Key, she was a long-time member of the Lake and Hills Garden Club. She was a member of the Westminster First Baptist Church and enjoyed singing in the choir.

 

Raylene and Richard traveled extensively to multiple countries of the world. On and off over a four-year period, they worked on cruise ships. Their job entailed teaching computer skills and managing the shipboard Internet. Although they also traveled on their own, the cruise ship employment was fabulous exposure to a multitude of diverse foreign countries.

 

Raylene had a zest for life and exuded compassion and kindness.  She loved being a wife, friend, mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother. She is survived and will be deeply missed by her loving husband of 62 years, Richard; her three children Randall (Georgianna) Webster of Palm City, FL, Richard Webster Jr. of Honolulu, HI, Cheryl (David) Moll of Boynton Beach, FL; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

 

A Celebration of Raylene’s life will take place on February 18TH, 2023, at the Westminster First Baptist Church (426 West Oak Hwy, Westminster, SC 29693) at 1:00 PM. A reception will follow at the church. Raylene will be interred at the Ramsey Creek Preserve.
