Ralph Smith

Seneca – Ralph Smith, 88, went to be with his Lord and savior on October 2, 2021 surrounded by his family.

 

Ralph was born in Oconee County and was the son of the late Freeman and Lucille Whitt Smith of Oconee County, he was the last surviving member of his family of 5 brothers and 4 sisters. Ral

 

ph was known for his amazing guitar playing, a God given talent that he never wasted a second on, he used his guitar playing and singing as a ministry to thousands, his faith in God was unwavering and everyone knew it, he could light up heaven with his infectious smile, you couldn’t be around daddy and not know you were around someone with a special God given anointing because he was just that amazing, we’re going to miss this amazing man, but rest assured we will see him when it’s our appointed time.

 

Ralph is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Lola Holcombe Smith; children; Steve Smith, Kenneth Smith, Diane “Annie” Smith, Cindy “Tredda” Steading (wife of the late Dan Steading) and last but not least Tyler Smith. He loved spending time with his grandchildren; Nichole Smith of Seneca, and Lindsey Larke (Ethan) of Greer, and 7 great-grandchildren whom he loved dearly; Gatlin Smith, Maebell Tyner, Cheyenne Tyner, Emma Tyner, Casey Larke, Ej Tyner, and Greyson Larke.

 

In addition to his parents, Ralph is preceded in death by  their daughter Miss Rita Mae Smith who hugged daddy’s neck for the first time since she was 5 years old,

 

A  funeral service will be held 2:30pm, Thursday, October 7th, 2021 at Sandifer Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Oconee Memorial Park. The family will receive friends, 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm, prior to the service on Thursday, October 7th, 2021.
