Ralph David Hardy

Ralph David Hardy was born in the midst of a snow storm to Thomas Hannibal and Myrtie Hardy on January 10, 1933. He came to know his Lord as Savior as a young boy and lived his life as a God-fearing man.

 

He went home to be with his Lord and was reunited with his precious wife, Gaythel Margaret Fitzgerald Hardy, as well as many of his family on Sunday afternoon, February 13, 2022.

 

He volunteered to serve his country and was always proud to have been in Korea when the peace treaty was signed in July of 1953. He was a Machinist at Torrington and Retired from Valenite. He was a member of Westminster American Legion, Westminster Masonic Lodge # 200 and Welcome Baptist Church.

 

Mr. Hardy is survived by his daughter: Debbie Lyles (Rev. Jerry) of Westminster; grandchildren: Rob Lyles (Elizabeth) and David Lyles (Makayla); great-grandchildren: Grace Lyles, Kate Lyles and Hank Lyles.

 

He was predeceased, in addition to his wife and parents, by his daughter: Vickie Hardy Crenshaw and her husband, Jimmy Crenshaw; brother: TJ Hardy; sisters: Eva Spearman, Marie King, Louise Freeman and Evelyn Wilson.

 

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at Welcome Baptist Church. Burial with Masonic and Military Rites will follow at Oconee Memorial Park.

 

Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM, Wednesday, prior to the service, at Welcome Baptist Church.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Welcome Baptist Church, 411 Retreat Street, Westminster, SC 29693.

 

The family is at their respective homes.
