Public access to county facilities limited further

Starting today, public access will be limited to Oconee County government facilities.  The restricted access is in place to protect the health and well-being of the public and county employees and to reduce the spread of the coronavirus.  These are the precautionary measures:  All tax payments will be accepted at the Pine Street drive-thru, over the phone, online, and by mail; you can access the Register of Deeds and Probate Court 10 am to 3 pm Monday through Friday; All other offices are closed to the public; Building permits and payment assistance are available online and by phone; All employees and visitors are required to wear face coverings while inside, or in close proximity to any county facility with exception for those who cannot wear a face covering because of medical or behavioral conditions, or religious beliefs.  Limited in-person attendance will continue to be allowed at county meetings.  Those meetings are broadcast live on the Your Oconee YouTube channel and the county’s website.  The public may call in and listen by dialing 888/475-4499 or 877/853-5257.  If you park close to the council chambers, you can listen to the meeting on FM 92.3.
