Promotions within Oconee Sheriff’s Office

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office held a promotions ceremony on November 15th to honor and recognize deputies who received promotions from all five Bureaus of the Sheriff’s Office.  Plus, deputies were also recognized for Life Saving Awards and for the use of Narcan to help reverse the effects of a drug overdose.

 

The following Deputies assigned to the Criminal Investigations/School Safety Bureau were recognized:

 

Corporal Keith Brooks – Promoted to Sergeant – School Resource Officers

 

Lieutenant Kevin Cain, Sergeant Adam Logan and Sergeant Jamie Hellams each received a Life Saving Award in response to first-aid administered to a seven year old girl who suffered a self-inflicted wound on July 14th, 2022 on Taylor Road near the Picket Post Community. Ross Johnson, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of TacMed Solutions, who is the provider of D.O.K. Kits to all Certified Officers at the Sheriff’s Office, presented a Certificate of Appreciation to all three Investigators who were recognized with the Life Saving Award.

 

The following Correctional Deputies from the Oconee County Detention Center were recognized

 

Corrections Deputy Eli Herring – Promoted to Master Detention Deputy

 

Corrections Deputy Sam Moses – Transport Deputy – Promoted to Master Detention Deputy

 

Corrections Officer Joseph Lamarsh – Promoted to Master Detention Deputy

 

Lieutenant Shadae Cobb was recognized as a “20 under 40” selection by the Oconee County Chamber of Commerce

 

The following E-911/ Communications Bureau Deputy was recognized:

 

Lieutenant Justin Ward – Promoted to Captain

 

The following Special Operations Bureau Deputies were Recognized:

 

Corporal Brian Danielson – Promoted to Sergeant – Warrants Unit

 

Sergeant John Crum – Promoted to Lieutenant – Judicial Services

 

Corporal Charles Mulwee – Promoted to Sergeant – P.A.C.E. Unit

 

Deputy Lucas Watts – Promoted to Corporal – P.A.C.E. Unit

 

Master Patrol Deputy Robert Chasteen – Promoted to Corporal – Warrants Unit

 

Corporal Jake Spence – Promoted to Sergeant – Community Services

 

The following Uniform Patrol Bureau deputies were Recognized:

 

Master Patrol Deputy Ben Hailey – Promoted to Corporal – Delta Shift

 

Deputy Mark Boatman – Promoted to Master Patrol Deputy – Charlie Shift

 

Also, Uniform Patrol Deputies from the Alpha Shift were recognized, and received a Cup of Value, in relation to the Sheriff’s Office Core Values as they assisted, and raised money, for South Union Baptist Church after the church was damaged due to Vandalism in the spring of this year.

 

Also Recognized:

 

Corporal Brandon Justice, Corporal Billy Lee, Deputy Michael Smith, Deputy Tina Sutherland, former Oconee County Sheriff’s Office Corporal Brandon Collins and former Oconee County Sheriff’s Office First Sergeant Aaron Hanks for their use of Narcan to reverse the effects of an Opioid overdose.
