Projected start for Oconee Tech campus is August 20

Workers are applying the final touches for the Oconee campus of Tri-County Technical College inside the Information and Technology Park on s. highway 11. And the college projects the opening date for classes will be Monday, August 20. It’s a 37,000 square foot building. Registration is underway for the fall semester. To enroll, contact the Tech admissions office on the main campus telephone number 864/646-1500. Tim Jared will be the Oconee campus coordinator. In this managerial role, he will oversee daily operations and support resources for students, faculty, and staff. Credit program offerings the first two semesters include Industrial Electronics Technology, Mechatronics, Technical Operator 1 and 2, CNC Programming and Operations, Manufacturing Management and Leadership, Business Administration, and University Studies. High school students may enroll in technical career pathways classes, as well as university transfer courses. Mandy Elmore, dean of the engineering and industrial technology division, says program offerings were specifically chosen based on jobs that are available in Oconee County.
