Preston Pierce manages Jocassee Hydro Station
For 10 years, Preston Pierce has managed Duke Energy’s Jocassee Hydro Station. Ahead of next week’s celebration of the hydro station’s 50th year, Pierce spoke to 101.7/WGOG NEWS about the public event that takes place there a week from tomorrow – Friday morning, June 15, and what visitors will get to see. The hydro station was built in 1973 to meet a growing demand for electricity. Its upper reservoir, Lake Jocassee, shares a border with North Carolina and South Carolina.
