Precautionary sewer advisories lifted

Water quality advisories for the Speed and Perkins creeks in the Seneca area of Oconee County have been repealed.  The Joint Regional Sewer Authority this afternoon announced that E. coli samples from the affected waterways and the results indicate that any potential bacterial contamination from April 13 wastewater spills has returned to normal levels.  The spills resulted from the morning two weeks ago of the EF3 tornado when there was the loss of electricity.  JRSA also experienced one additional reportable spill from the storm, but the wastewater did not reach a waterway.
