Power interruption shuts down water plant

Walhalla is dealing with a water service emergency.  Scott Parris, utilities director, made this announcement just moments ago:  “The City of Walhalla has experienced an electrical system disruption that has resulted in the shutdown of the City’s water plant.  Customers within the water service area may begin to experience a loss of water pressure, or complete loss of water service within the next few hours.  City crews are working to correct the issue, and hope to have the water plant back online and service restored tonight.  As a result of the loss of pressure, the City is issuing a boil water advisory for all customers.  The advisory requires customers to vigorously boil water for 2 minutes, prior to use for cooking or drinking.  The advisory will remain in place until satisfactory results are obtained after service is restored.  The City apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause.”
