Potential virus exposure in one county office

Because of the potential of a COVID-19 exposure inside the office of the Oconee County Auditor, that Pine Street, Walhalla office will be closed for three and a half hours this morning.  Amanda Brock, county administrator, says the temporary closing is precaution only and while closed, the office will undergo a professional sanitizing and deep cleaning.  The plan is to re-open the office for business at the noon hour today.  Until further notice, everyone doing business at county government’s Pine Street complex is encouraged to first call or to email before visiting.  In the case of the auditor’s office, many of the services–including vehicle registration and high-mileage adjustments, are available on the webpage www.oconeesc.com/auditor-home.
