Positioning Oconee to keep its brain talent

Thanks to the proximity of Clemson University, there’s a good supply of brain talent in Oconee County, but Paul Cain says the problem is Oconee will lose those smart minds unless the county becomes more conducive to a younger generation. Cain took time last night to push for support of a $1.5 million request in the new county budget to co-locate the offices of the Economic Alliance with a second business incubator somewhere on eastern side of Oconee near Clemson. Cain concedes $1.5 million is a lot of money, but he believes the positioning of the economic development businesses near a major university important for Oconee to keep up with the changing times.
