Political qualifying starts with a bang

At least at the start, one Walhalla family has a sizeable presence in the field to run in the November election.   Two members of Councilman Grant Keehn’s family qualified as the qualifying opened today.  Micah Keehn and Jacob Keehn are running for two of the available three, full-term city council seats.  Previously, their sister, Abigail Keehn, qualified to seek to fill the unexpired term of a fourth council seat vacated by the Tyler Jordan resignation.  In that special contest, Abigail Keehn and Kenny Johns are the ballot candidates.  Sherri Campbell, a former paralegal who is not a member of the Keehn family, is running for mayor.  Campbell is a resident of the Mountain View subdivision.  Though she’s not related to the Keehns, she is part of what Councilman Keehn is calling a “Save Walhalla” faction.  Those who ascribe to that believe Walhalla should be meeting the needs of its citizens, not the wants.
