Policeman bolts for better paying job

The Walhalla police chief says he can’t blame a policeman for leaving for better pay. That’s what happened with Juan Hernandez who left the Walhalla department this week for a better paying job down the road in Seneca. Because the city paid the costs for Hernandez to take a 12-week, required course at the state police academy, Walhalla will be eligible to receive from Hernandez’s new employer reimbursement costs for the training. Walhalla Chief Sean Brinson filled Hernandez’s spot on the force with the hiring of Kyle Langdon, a three-year member of the Anderson Police Department.
