Police pursuit ends with capture of driver

A four-mile chase early yesterday afternoon ended with Oconee sheriff’s officers capturing a man who jumped out of a wrecked car and ran. Officers used taser to subdue their suspect whose car ran off the road after hitting two other vehicles. No one was hurt. The Sheriff’s Office identified the man arrested as Seneca resident Daniel Timothy Falu and the charges against him as reckless driving, no South Carolina driver’s license, operating un-insured, improper display of vehicle tag, failure to register vehicle, and failure to stop for blue lights. According to the Sheriff’s Office, the chase was carried out at speeds of around 45 miles an hour. Deputies activated their pursuit alert system, which notifies the public within a three-mile radius. More information about the app is available on the sheriff’s office website.
