Police-involved shooting was fatal to suspect

The state police say a Tuesday incident between a man and Anderson County deputies was fatal to the man, for whom there were multiple arrest warrants.  “SLED’s” announcement states suspect Brandon Mauldin died after being shot in a confrontation with the deputies.  According to SLED, The deputies attempted to serve warrants charging Mauldin with domestic violence first degree, resisting arrest, and receiving stolen goods, but he fled.  At the request of the agency involved, the state Law Enforcement Division conducts officer-involved shooting investigations.  This incident was the 37th officer-involved shooting this year in South Carolina.  Last year, there were 49.
