Planned outage ahead for sections of Blue Ridge service area

The transmission supplier for the Blue Ridge Electric Cooperative has scheduled an outage during the early morning hours of Sunday that will mean no service for parts of Blue Ridge’s service territory in southwest Oconee and northwest Anderson counties.  The outage is scheduled to start at midnight and last until 4 a-m and affect those in Port Bass, Fair Play and Townville.  The outage will allow crews to transfer the transmission feed to a newly constructed line, which should improve service reliability.  In the event of inclement weather, the service interruption will be postponed until the following Sunday morning, July 31, at midnight. The cooperative extends its apologies for the inconvenience this interruption will create.  To receive additional information about this maintenance work, members are encouraged to check the cooperative’s website at www.blueridge.coop, follow its social media outlets, or call Blue Ridge at 1-800-240-3400 for updates.
