Pioneer taste and odor complaints

In the Crossroads Community south of Seneca and in the Anderson County community of Double Springs.  There, some customers of the Pioneer Rural Water District are complaining about the taste and smell of their drinking water.  This was a matter of discussion during a meeting this afternoon of the Pioneer Rural Water board.  It prompted Terry Pruitt, the district manager, to say changes are being made and he predicts those who’ve raised the complaints will see improvement in the next few days. These latest complaints have apparently arisen in one month’s time as frequent rains have helped swell the body of Lake Hartwell.  Notwithstanding the complaints, Pruitt believes, they are much fewer in number than the algae problem during the treatment plant’s first year of operation last year.
