Petition for annexation

An Oconee hospital board of directors has taken a step toward allowing the annexation of the hospital complex to become part of the Seneca city limits. Curt Evatt, chairman of the hospital Holdings Board, told 101.7/WGOG NEWS that, following a Monday night executive session, the board decided to petition for annexation. Officials have said services offered by Seneca to those who enter the limits are financially advantageous, including reduced water bills. The Holdings Board is a group of Oconee area residents who govern the properties of the local hospital, which is a campus of the newly created Prisma Health of Seneca.
