Pendleton FFA team places in competition

The Pendleton High School FFA team returned from competition at the Annual South Carolina Envirothon. Team members, along with their coaches, brought home a third place finish and a $250 dollar scholarship for each team member. Perhaps more valuable was the experience. Each year, 9th-12th graders across the state spend a day away from the structured class day and get to learn and take part in friendly competition in the outdoors. Twenty-three school teams took part. They often put up with rain, mud, bugs, and bites but learn a lot about the environment, aquatics, forestry, soils, and wildlife.
