Pedestrian allegedly walked on highway after warnings

A late night stroll by an Oconee County pedestrian ends up in the man’s arrest.  A deputy sheriff said a 34-year Walhalla man was warned, but later ticketed after he was seen in dark clothing walking late at night in the roadway of highway 28, the Blue Ridge Blvd., in the vicinity of the hospital.  Law enforcement records today show the charge of pedestrian on controlled highway was placed early yesterday against Gabriel Matthew Pace.  An account provided by the investigating officer states:  “Over the course of the past three days (12/31/21-1/2/2022) the Sheriff’s Office has received numerous calls in reference to Gabriel being in the road.  Those calls had all been settled by giving Gabriel warnings about being the roadway and the correct location to walk when near a roadway.”
