Pauline Rogers Adams

Salem, SC — Pauline Rogers Adams, 88, wife of the late Charles Douglas Adams, of Salem, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday, April 17, 2020. She was surrounded by her loving family at her home.

Raised in Fresno, CA, Pauline was the daughter of the late Audie and Genevieve Gregory Rogers. Through her career as an elementary school teacher she touched many lives with her enthusiasm for learning. She continued that enthusiasm as a member of the Clemson Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI). Pauline was a dedicated member of St. Mark United Methodist Church, active with the Elizabeth Circle and the church’s mission work.

An avid artist, Pauline painted over 100 oil paintings and for a time was credentialed to copy paintings in the National Gallery of Art. More recently, she enjoyed painting sessions with her friends in Keowee Key.

She is survived by her son, William James Adams (Peggy) of Crofton, MD, and her daughters, Denice Louise Benton (Steven) of Shaker Heights, OH and Rebecca Ann Adams Oliver (Rick) of Charlottesville, VA. She was the adoring grandmother of Chas, Kevin and Brian Benton, Christian Adams, and Andrea and John Oliver, and the proud great-grandmother of Everly and Peyton Benton.

Pauline was preceded in death by her loving husband, parents and sister Georgia Cucuk.

There will be a private graveside service for immediate family and a celebration of her life to be held at a later date.
