PAUL DAVID STANTON

Seneca – Paul David “PD” Stanton, 80, husband of Glenda Harrill Stanton, passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at Cottingham Hospice House surrounded by his loving family.

 

Born November 29th, 1943 in Pelzer, South Carolina, PD was the son of the late Kenness Debrias “KD” and Lois Bell Roe Stanton. Paul retired with twenty-seven years of service from the South Carolina Highway Patrol and then later on worked for thirteen years at the Oconee County Courthouse as a Deputy. PD was a United States Navy Veteran on the USS Valley Forge, having served during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He was an avid amateur chef, a collector of Hot Wheels and Coca-Cola memorabilia, and a member of Pelzer First Baptist Church.   

 

PD is survived by his beloved wife, Glenda Harrill Stanton; son, Scott David Stanton of Seneca, SC; daughter, Stacey Stanton Allison (Larry) of Pickens, SC; six grandchildren, Jayde Adams (Justin) of Belton, SC, Jeremy Stanton of Asheville, NC, Jason Stanton of Seneca, SC, Madison Rogers (Luke) of Salem, SC, Jacob Stanton of Seneca, SC, and Kaydee Stanton of Seneca; four great-grandchildren, Liam Rogers, Mason Rogers, Thorin Stanton, and Emersyn Adams.

 

PD is preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth Benson Stanton; his sisters, Connie Louise Nix and Carolyn Stanton Mewbourn; and eight half-brothers and sisters.

 

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, May 11, 2024, at Sandifer Funeral Home.
