Paul B. Orr

Salem, SC– Paul B. Orr, 54, husband of Dessie Hall Orr, of 110 Patterson Ridge Road, Salem, passed away on Monday, July 4, 2022, at AnMed Health.

A native of Hendersonville, NC, Mr. Orr was the son of Jean Osteen Orr and the late Jimmie Paul Orr.
He was a Sergeant with the Oconee County Sheriff’s Department and attended Alive Wesleyan Church.

Sergeant Orr began his law enforcement career with the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office in 2007 after owning a very successful boat storage/rental store. He had a lifelong desire to serve as a police officer and after prayerful discussion with his family, came to work as a deputy. He wanted to help others and make a difference. Mr. Orr was promoted to Senior Deputy in 2012, Corporal in 2013, and later Sergeant over the Warrant Unit in 2013. He was named Special Operations Bureau Officer of the Year in 2015. Sergeant Orr embodied the definition of a peace officer. He was always professional and treated everyone with respect. Some people that knew they had an outstanding warrant would call and ask for Sergeant Orr to be the one to arrest them. Sergeant Orr leaves behind his loving wife and daughter. We continue praying for this family in the days and weeks ahead along with our men and women that served with him.

In addition to his wife and mother, Mr. Orr is survived by his daughter: Alexis Orr of the home; brother: Perrin Orr of Hendersonville, NC; sisters: Jill Hightower of Seneca, SC, Joelle Kelly of Saluda, NC and Julee Reagles of Hendersonville, NC; and also, his brothers and sisters in blue.

Memorial services will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Monday, July 11, 2022, at Alive Wesleyan Church, 136 Chastain Road, Central, SC 29630.
