Parts of Walhalla water area under boil advisory

An early morning water main break Tuesday on Arrowood Circle has resulted in low system pressures or complete loss of water service for some customers. As a result, the City of Walhalla Water Department advises the customers in the areas listed below, located in Oconee County, to vigorously boil their water for at least one (1) full minute prior to drinking or cooking. Avondale Subdivision Dickard Rd. Albert’s Rd. Nix Rd. Crocker Rd. Park Ridge Dr. Shrine Club Rd. Charter Oak Dr. Post Oak Ln. Winding Ln. Lacey Ln. Poplar Springs Rd. If your area is not listed, but you live in the general area listed, and have experienced loss of water service, or reduced water pressure, we recommend that you follow the recommendations of the advisory. The area is being flushed to avoid contamination, water samples will be taken, and tested. Residents should continue to vigorously boil their water for at least one (1) full minute prior to drinking or cooking until otherwise notified by the City of Walhalla Water Department. Also, any ice made from water, which has not been boiled, should not be used for drinking purposes. The City of Walhalla Water Department is currently working to correct the problem, and apologizes for any inconveniences caused by the outage.
