Parade shapes up to be one of Seneca’s largest

Seneca’s 2017 Christmas Parade Monday night shapes up to be one of the largest, in the eight years that Julian Davis has taken charge of setting the lineup.  By early this afternoon 130 units–including entries from 36 churches–had registered.  And Davis says that bodes well for the other parades in the county that will follow.  Many of Seneca’s entries will be be part of the lineup for other parades in the county, he says.  The Seneca parade, traditionally the last Monday night of November, will line up on S. 4th Street and roll thru the town starting at 6:30 pm.  Theme this year is “A Christmas to Remember.”  Retiring city administrator Greg Dietterick will ride at the head of the parade as grand marshal, in deference to his plans to retire in 2018.
