Outlook for two full days of apple fest activities

Sunny skies, low 80s make ideal the weather today and tomorrow for the bulk of South Carolina Apple Festival activities.  Considering there was no festival last year, Mayor Brian Ramey says his city is eager to welcome back crowds that’ll sample food and craft vendors, see the parade, watch a rodeo, and buy some apples.  While visitors will enjoy good weather in the downtown and at a number of roadside apple stands, the weather earlier this year was not kind to the growers and, according to the mayor, has cut into crop numbers.  But there are still apples to be bought at various locations in the Westminster, Holly Springs, and Long Creek areas.
