Opposition forms to proposed Walhalla home development

Walhalla Planning Commission next week welcomes comment on a re-zone application that, if OK’d, would allow for a new home development pf 20 to 23 houses on Tyre B. Mauldin Street.  Already there’s some opposition developing to the project that would go cover part of the street, from S. Poplar to S. Chestnut.  Nearby resident Keith Pace of WS Broad Street is hopeful that Walhalla residents will speak in opposition.  Pace says, “This hearing is to change zoning for residential building laws.  We are trying to stop developers from coming in and overloading build sites.  If this is changed,” he says, “it will most definitely change the look and direction of our city and affect everyone.”  The public hearing will be 5:30 Monday evening at City Hall.
