One Seneca zoning change OK’d, motion fails on a second

Seneca’s elected leaders cleared the way last night for a controversial small home development in a section of the city filled with larger, older homes. In a 6 to 2 vote, Season’s Building Company of West Union was approved for a planned development residential zone at ES 7th and Townville streets. Ten out of the 13 speakers from the audience expressed worry of the effects on traffic and other conditions that as many as 34 homes could mean on about three acres of land. On a second application for residential-6 zoning along S. Walnut Street, a motion to approve died for the lack of a second—and there was no immediate explanation. Further details on these re-zoning matters can be heard today on the on-air version of 101.7.WGOG NEWS.
