One person shot, traffic stop elsewhere related

A shooting early this morning near Westminster is said to have a connection to a traffic stop near Walhalla. Spokesman for the Oconee Sheriff says the shooting victim was taken to a hospital. No word is available this afternoon on his name or condition. Blue lights were flashing on 183/the Westminster Highway near the Ulbrich plant, and they were also flashing on 28 near the 11 bridge which, according to Master Deputy Jimmy Watt, was the scene of a traffic stop related to the shooting investigation. Walhalla Police Chief Brinson says city officers also took part in the traffic stop part of the investigation. No other details have been made available to 101.7/WGOG NEWS.
