One person rescued from burning home

Fire fighters found an adult male in the bedroom of a home this morning near Westminster. According to Oconee Emergency Services, resuscitation efforts were immediately started and the patient was sent to the Oconee hospital. His condition was not immediately known. At the Dr. John’s Road fire scene, heavy smoke was seen coming from the eaves and roof of the house. Fire fighters brought the fire under control and stayed to check for any hot spots or extension of the fire. Because of what was described as significant injury, the county’s fire investigation team has enlisted the help of both the sheriff’s office and the state police.
