Oconee’s Schneider operations to share in new, big investment

Schneider Electric operations in Oconee and Richland counties are in line for an expansion.  Announcement this morning from the South Carolina Department of Commerce says it’s to be a combined investment of $23.8 million and 280 new jobs throughout this year.  Schneider’s Oconee facility on the Sandifer Boulevard makes low-voltage motor control centers, panelboard box and trim, and lighting and PowerLink panelboards.  The Schneider Oconee investment will include HVAC electrification and 130 new jobs.  In Richland County, Schneider will add 150 new jobs to a facility that manufactures NW breakers, low-voltage switchgear and switchboards.  Hiring at both will take place throughout 2024, and those interested should visit the company’s Seneca careers page for Oconee or the Columbia careers page for Richland County.
